Delivery Voyage, Tortola to Saint Augustine, November 2003
In November, 2003, Steve and his friend Frank Hafner flew to Tortola, British
Virgin Islands to take delivery of the
Dakota Rose.

Also on the delivery voyage were Captain Jerry McCarthy, his wife Leah, and hired
crew Tripp Snead.

After a few days to provision the boat, and then waiting out a threatening weather
system, they set off for an eight-day sail to Florida.
We took delivery at Nanny Cay, in Tortola, just as a tropical depression moved in
and stalled over the BVI, dumping so much rain over 3 days that we thought the
island was being washed away -- the Island Governor declared it a disaster area
